Throwback Thursday: T21 bracelet

In August of 2017 I made custom metal buttons for Down Syndrome (Trisomy 21) awareness bracelets by drilling two holes in aluminum discs and stamping them.

I then crocheted braided bracelets and used the buttons for the closures.

Throwback Thursday: stamped bracelets

In December 2016 I was all about the stamped aluminum bracelets.

The next level for this craft is using tools for alignment so the words come out straight every time. Pencil layouts can only take you so far.

I did have fun finding sayings that fit on the bracelets.

Aluminum recycles

13 pounds of aluminum cans

I took my crushed aluminum cans to the metal recycle center. I was just thinking I would drop it off (our trash collector doesn’t offer recycling in our area), but they pay for aluminum. So I put my bag on the scale, got a weight of 13 pounds, and took my ticket to get my $4.42. The man behind the counter gave me a lollipop with my cash. I was also referred to as “the young lady” (which I am not). It was definitely an experience.
