Was very sad. It turned out that most of what sprouted was wheat seeds from the straw I put down as a cover. I was able to harvest one bulb, which was smaller than the bulb I broke up and planted last winter. Bummer. But I will try again in the fall.
After watching it for awhile, it did manage to pull the spider up into the garage. Um, no thank you. I usually leave spiders alone, but one harboring wasp eggs? Not in my garage. It was taken care of.
I had some time and was able to put together the final three chicken run doors and as a bonus, a new door for the catio! The old door was a cheap screen door from the big box hardware store, and the screen would come out at the slightest breeze. So now there is a treated 2×4 frame with welded wire door on the catio. It needs paint, but it is a strong sturdy door now.

The catio has shifted slightly, and where I made sure the door was square, the opening was not. So we (my eldest helped), hung the door to swing in instead. It works and the gap is not big enough for a cat to squeeze through.
Since we have new run doors, we were able to open up the third run for the chickens! They loved having fresh new grass to nibble! The seed I sowed three weeks ago sprouted and was a few inches tall after having no chickens for three weeks.
I love making pocket holes to assemble the screens doors for the coop runs! I setup a kind of assembly line to drill the holes for the doors using a Kreg mini jig.

So after drilling the holes and assembling the frames, I covered them in poultry wire and my eldest helped me hang them. We can now rotate the chickens through three runs! Yay!
