Ok, so not quite; we really have a frog in the pole, but that doesn’t have the same ring. My husband spotted this guy hanging out in our flag pole.

Well that was unintentional. My makeshift cord plug protection also appears to be a death trap for rolly pollies. I finally unplugged the holiday deer, mainly because half the lights went out, and found a gathering of critter shells in the bin. The deer? He will stay in the meadow, because I really do like seeing him there. He is now a year-round decoration as I took off the holiday bow. So glad there isn’t an HOA here.

I usually have a project of some sort that hangs out in the car so I can work on it when I’m waiting. I opened the bag and there was a little something extra with my knitting. I have no idea how this little spider found its way into my bag, but I think it goes well with the yarn. I did not keep it (though it is cute), but set it free outside the vehicle. I may need to make a shawl pin or broach with that light green color.

Maybe it was appreciating my web work.

We have some rust issues with the back fence that need to be fixed. However, after we saw a small bird fly into the hole, and Sophie the cat’s interest in the hole, we think a bird has a nest in the bottom. Fixing can wait until after nesting season.

Here is my shout-out to Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose, Texas. This is definitely one of our favorite places to go, and if you’re in the area (or even if you’re not) we recommend a visit. Feeding the giraffes is the best. Save some food for the herd! You may be tempted to give it all to the Fallow deer, or Oryx, or the Aoudad (my favorite), but be strong.
