Here are my pups posing with their favorite toys. Missy is obsessed with the web ball, and Griffin loves to chase and catch a soft frisbee. They are not happy that I stopped the game to take a picture!

A wasp nest in the coop that I sprayed a year ago finally fell down into the runs. I left it up because I read that if there is a nest, other wasps will avoid the area. Apparently people make all sorts of fake nests to psych out the wasps (yes, there are even crocheted decoys!) I just left the fumigated nest in place. We’ll see if I get new inhabitants this spring.

Silly cat. She gets up on the coop roof via an overhanging tree. She quite likes peeking down at the chickens. And me.
Hurray! My chickens have gained their weight back! My eldest and I did a chicken check and all the chickens are heavier. They feel much healthier too. No mites under the wings, vents all look fine (and it is apparent that some are laying), no bumbles, but some have some very prominent scales on their feet. So another round of vaseline on the feet at night is in order. On the encouraging side, more feathers are growing in on their feet, so maybe the last two rounds of scaly leg mite treatment helped some.

I’ve run out of bobbins and shuttles on my current weaving, so have added butterflies of yarn as well. I could go make more shuttles or bobbins, but I’m having fun weaving. I had every intention of doing a simple striped woven scarf, which lasted not even half an inch before I had other ideas. Now we’ll just see where the weft takes me.
